The Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center is a working education and conservation center around 18 miles from Pensacola Beach. It was founded in 2013 through grassroots community efforts to conserve and protect endangered sea turtles. The Florida Coast's vibrant wildlife and breathtaking beauty are a big part of why Portofino Island Resort is delighted to offer travelers luxurious accommodations in the area. Many accommodations offer stunning views of the Gulf or the Santa Rosa Sound, creating a sense of connection to the natural beauty surrounding you.
Explore the Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center
When you first enter the Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center, you'll be greeted by Sweet Pea, the Ambassador-in-Residence. She was found stranded and entangled in a fishing line on Ono Island, Orange Beach, Alabama. She was deemed non-releasable by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission because her injuries prevented her from living on her own in the wild. There are tons of interactive exhibits and programs to explore beyond that.
Plan your visit to one of the many intriguing exhibits, such as Sea Turtles Of The Gulf Coast, Jellyfish Corner, Marine Debris Recycling Corner, Artificial Reef Room, Scavenger Hunts, Shark Tooth Treasure Hunt, and more!
